A Spot of Golden Moon Tea, Fiesta, and a Giveaway

November 19, 2009

tilt

Do you find as you get older that you enjoy the simple things more? I do. It doesn’t get much better to me than sitting on the couch at the end of the day with a cup of tea, a soft lamp on, and a book. {Even if it is a nursing book these days…} The house is all quiet, Bradley is asleep, and I can just take a moment to…breathe.

I especially love drinking a cup of tea in my Fiesta. In fact, I’m drinking some now. You may have noticed that almost all the food pictures I take are in some sort of Fiesta. The ladies in my family are addicted to Fiesta, and they certainly passed it on to me! All the bright colors just make me happy. :-) My sister and I love going to the warehouse where they make Fiesta. They have a seconds room full of pieces that didn’t come out as perfectly as they had hoped. They’re really inexpensive, and look just as good to me! My favorite colors are the eggplant purple, scarlet red, and maybe the chocolate, too. My brother-in-law, Erich, is a tea buff, and we got him a red teapot for his birthday one year. {He is aware of our addiction and supports it fully.} :-)

The latest tea I tried is Golden Moon Tea. They asked if I wanted to do a giveaway, and I just couldn’t pass up that opportunity! Especially when I looked on their Web site and saw the Coconut Pouchong, one of their flavors of oolong tea. {Are you impressed I knew that word, Erich?} If you know me at all, you know I love coconut and substitute coconut extract in just about every recipe that calls for vanilla. So I ordered a sample of that and one of the Honey Pear for $0.99 each {plus shipping}. They also have Sugar Caramel, White Persian Melon, and more. Is your mouth watering yet?!  When I opened up the pouch of Coconut Pouchong and got a hint of the coconut flavor, I knew I was in for a treat! I drank a cup out at the picnic table while Bradley made his Thanksgiving Tree and enjoyed the sunny day. Now, it did throw me off a little that the tea comes in leaves, and I have only ever had tea that comes in bags. So, I made a quick call to my sister to see how to make it, and now I feel just that much classier. :-)

Want to win your own 3.5-oz. tin from Golden Moon Tea? Check out the details below. I was going to offer you the Honey Pear, but Khara tells me you can pick any flavor you want. So have at it, peeps!

Oh, and in case you missed my last TILT post because I was switching over to WordPress {still working out the kinks}, take a look at it here. It’s how I’m getting a new face. :-)

I can’t drink dark teas anymore because they started staining my teeth (yes, I drank a lot of tea!), so I would have to pick the White Persian Melon.
