I am supposed to graduate in May of 2010. When my sister sent me a check for my birthday this year (the big 3-0!), Xon and I decided to start a fund for a graduation present. I have always wanted a mixer, so we thought that would be an excellent way to celebrate my new degree. –Like how confident I am that I’m going to finish??
With Dawn’s check, my birthday check from Xon’s grandparents, my birthday Target gift card from Xon’s dad, and the Target gift card Xon’s sister, Autumn, gave us for Christmas, we are nearly halfway there (which is appropriate, because I’m nearly halfway done with my degree)! The mixer is a little more expensive at Target, but we figure we may as well use what we have!
Well, to make things even more exciting, I just realized I can use my Swagbucks to get Target gift cards. So I’ll be accumulating even more mixer money throughout the coming year. Woo hoo!

In case you haven’t heard of Swagbucks, it’s a search engine that rewards you for searching online. It’s just like searching through Google. (In fact, the search results come from Google and Ask.com.) They periodically award you Swagbucks while you’re searching, and you can redeem your points for gift cards to places like Amazon, Target, Starbucks, etc. It’s really simple, and it’s completely free!
Go to Swagbucks if you’d like to learn more. They’ll even give you 3 Swagbucks when you register.
I also plan on shopping through ShopAtHome.com so I can get cash back on my Target order. If you’re shopping online, check to see if your store is listed. You can get cash back plus a bonus if it’s your first time signing up!
I can’t wait to get to next May! If you’d like, you can watch my progress on the mixer graphic in the right-hand column of my blog.
